The magic of ChaiPowered begins when everyone has sat down with anticipation; the lights go off, the presenter is ready. A slide pops up on the screen, and then for the next 324 seconds (5 minutes 24 seconds) every second counts! 18 slides will start moving, one after the other, every 18 seconds, while the presenter tells the story in prose, spoken words poetry, songs or just breathing for some of the time. 

 

'Chai' means Life in Hebrew, and in Jewish numerology the letters that make up this word equal 18. This is a central symbol in Jewish tradition, that celebrates Life as a major, complex arena for all our journeys, and potentials.  

ChaiPowered brings together talented presenters from a community, with varied interests. Each presenter tells us about something that inspires them in Life and that connects to the theme of the event.

 

ChaiPowered TM is a nonprofit organisation, founded and run by Hungarian born, Cape Town based edupreneur and rabbinical student Andrea Kuti.

 ChaiPowered had a most successful debut appearance at Limmud Cape Town South Africa in Aug 2013 and since then we had a couple more engaging creative events, including the Outstanding ChaiPowered Pink Salon at Truth Cafe with the support of the #makeithappen micro grant from the Schusterman Family Foundation and two sessions at Limmud Conference 2014, in the UK. ChaiPowered is looking forward to create more events that inspire, engage, entertain, and educate our audiences.
