Rosa Manoim: A Liminal Place

Rosa Manoim, a 21 year old Law and Anthropology student at Wits University is a Joburger who is part of the management body of Netzer- the Reform youth movement. She is working towards a career in migration and asylum and is interested in different cultural approaches to complex issues. She has been interested in the LGBTIAQ activist movement since her first Pride March at the age of 16 and has a particular passion for youth education.
A Liminal Place: How can we move LGBTQIA spaces forward:In today’s world we have come a long way in the battle for gay rights but there are many spaces left muddled. One can argue that we are stuck in a ‘waiting place’ unsure of how to carry these achievements forward in a practical way without excluding anyone … But how do we do this? Where do we start? How do we get out of this liminal place of dilemma and questions and begin to mould our world appropriately?
